South Valley Farm

South Valley Farm is located in the small village of Westminster West, Vermont. We farm on 3 -4 acres with a couple of greenhouses, and sell our produce through South Valley Farm’s Community Supported Agriculture, C.S.A., The Brattleboro Farmers Market, the Chester Farmers Market and wholesale to other farm stands and natural food stores. In the past, we have also opened our strawberry fields to U-Pick customers when there has been a good, sizable crop.

Farming for others or myself for the past 18 years, I’ve always done so organically and sustainably. This year we will be Certified Naturally Grown. This follows the same guidelines of growing food naturally  as organic certified does, such as no use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and a strong commitment of building strong fertile soil in the fields to host and support strong and healthy plants. Certified Naturally Grown is a good fit for smaller farmers with grassroots local support.

The season is just getting underway with seed trays filling up our small seed-sunroom. When this is full and winter really turns to Spring, we fire up the transplant greenhouse and move the trays of winter spinach, bok choi and salad mix and away we go!!
Some of what you may find growing throughout the seasons at South valley Farm are:  Beans, Peas, Spinach, Tomatoes, Peppers, Eggplant, lettuce, Salad Mix, Cucumbers, Potatoes, Carrots, Herbs, Radicchio, Bok Choi, Onions, Leeks, Summer Squash, Winter Squash, Broccoli, European Cucumber, Picking cucumber, Broccoli Raab, Dandelion greens and more.
