Sherry Morris is this year’s guest speaker. A love offering will be taken to support Care Net’s ministry. If you are able to attend, please contact Pastor Anthony. All RSVPs are due by Oct. 8th.
Baptism
Several in our congregation have expressed interest in being baptized. Pastor Anthony is going to teach a class on baptism starting soon, in preparation for baptisms in late October or early November. If you have an interest, please contact Pastor Anthony.

Is coming October 24th at 6:00 PM here at SBC. In addition to our fellowship, this year’s supper is also part of our fall missions conference. The Monk family, who are missionaries in Floriday with Every Man Serves, will give us a presentation about their ministry.
Mission Project (See Word of Life Page)
To help to continue to raise money for the new “Word of Life” school building in The Philippines, the board of missions is continuing its missions project through the summer. As you know we are partnering with three other churches to raise as much money as possible for the remaining supplies needed for the new school. What follows are the things that they still need and their estimated costs: 1. LCD projector - $1,600, 2. Two computers with desk top tables and printers - $1,200 each, 3. 8 filing cabinets - $250 each, 4. 2 air conditioners - $250 each, 5. 4 portable white boards - $150 each, 6. 8 stand fans - $50 each, 7. 14 book cases - $100 each.
Stage Lighting
There is a project underway by Pastor Anthony and the worship team to improve the lighting in the front of the sanctuary. They already have a proposal from Gregg Selesky for it, but would value input that anyone else in the congregation might like to give. Please contact Pastor Anthony (520-4801) if you would like to contribute.
Small Groups
Pastor Anthony has started some small groups to meet together with him to learn about the basics of the Christian faith. He is teaching the great confessions, which help us to understand what the Church has historically believed about the Bible. No mandatory homework is involved, and while most groups will be meeting on a weekly basis, the individual groups can meet less often if their schedules require. For anyone interested but has not yet joined a group, you can choose from the following:
•Bob & Linda’s home-every Tuesday 7:00 PM
•Laura Smith’s home-every Thursday 1:30 PM
•Roger & Ann’s home-every Thursday 7:00 PM
•Scott & Donna’s home-most Sundays 3:00PM
•George & Martha’s home-2nd & 4th Fridays 7:00 PM
•One more has started - details soon.
In order to join a group, or to ask a question about the small groups, contact Pastor Anthony or one of the small group hosts.
