Pay-it-forward story When I was starting college in 1970, I took a special class on spirituality that had a fee of $200 dollars. While signing up, I overheard a woman in the group saying that she wanted to take the class but couldn’t afford it. I spoke to the instructor on the side and quietly paid her fee as an anonymous gift. When she was told about the anonymous gift, she insisted on knowing who gave the gift and so she approached me wanting to make arrangements to pay me back. I told her she could pay me back by helping another person in the same way. We’d be even when she helped that person. She accepted those terms and we enjoyed the month long class with our other classmates.
5 years later, I returned to the class to visit with the instructor. I was shocked to find out that there was an unbroken line of “pay-it-forward” students since I’d left. Five years afterwards, the chain reaction of my gift was still being given to a student in need, who upon graduation, gave it to another student in need, and so forth. Even more surprising, and a little embarrassing, they had named it, “Mike Kramer’s Gift” and explained it’s origin to each recipient. I was moved and honored, plus I learned a great lesson.
Since then, whenever I help a person in need who offers to pay me back, I always ask them to help a stranger in need who they may not normally help, then we will be even.

Your Gift Forward This is a very unusual offer, but if you’d like to make a gift to the Pay It Forward Fund, I’ll make sure your gift is forwarded to either a person you select who wishes to purchase art on SoultoGod.com, or it can be passed onto the next client that makes an order. Another option is if you like a specific piece of art, such as Live in God’s Love, you can designate the next purchaser of that art to receive your gift.
Your gift can be anonymous if you wish, or I can share the name of their benefactor. When your gift is passed on, I’ll email you giving the first name of the client (if they OK it) and what art they purchased with the help of your gift. No contact info will be passed on without the specific permission of both parties. If both parties agree, I’ll share contact emails and you can communicate. Who knows where this crazy idea will go, but wouldn’t it be nice if your loving gift to a stranger inspired a chain-reaction of generous-hearts for years to come?
