God’s World blends into my world...
“God’s World” creates a spiritual state-of-heart where an awareness of God blends into the world of the viewer. Soul is represented by the woman sitting on the rock. We are Soul, that woman, that viewpoint. We are in this earth world, but there is a deeper reality that our world is in. I believe part of the puzzle of life is to allow the seeming infinite gulf of heaven and earth to merge gently into one cohesive living-force of love and deep insight. It is then that our actions flow from clear minds and hearts creating works of love on earth.
While creating this art, a wonderful little prayerful affirmation came to me. The words seemed to have come from a much higher source as they carried a wonderfully simple wisdom and a guideline to live by:
“God’s World blends into my world, His love into my heart, my heart into His will,
His will into works of love on earth.” – Michael Kramer 2007
I designed a second version of this art with the words inscribed on a photo matt. The “God’s World” phrase has become the theme of this website.
The woman in the scene is transfixed by a mystical light off in the distance that is sweeping this world with peace. In my art, I often create several sources of light to give a sense of heaven. I subtlety stimulate the senses by creating several sources of light that are woven gently into the art to give the viewer a sense of a beautiful world that is real and unreal at the same time. In this art, we have a radiant source of light form the upper left lighting the fields and woman, but there is a mysterious other source of light that we can see off in the distance. I imagine this source as the gathering of souls around a great teacher who’s love of God is so bright that it is spreading throughout this world.
Creating the Art This art started with a photo shoot of my good friend Ula, one sunny day on an ocean shore in La Jolla, California. Some of you might recognize the rock she’s sitting on. It’s about a block south of Children’s Cove on a ledge overlooking the ocean. This shot of Ula was taken during sunset. The fields, mountains and water were shots taken when I was jeeping with my younger brother in the Colorado Rockies.
