Dean Sorenson is a trombonist, composer, and arranger. He is Associate Professor and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN.

Modeled after the First Performance series by Bruce Pearson and Barrie Gott, this is a collection of ten full grade grade ½ charts in Rock, Latin, and Swing styles, scored for jazz ensemble, but with the addition of OPTIONAL CONCERT BAND INSTRUMENTATION. This highly versatile and flexible book will encourage and support students in their first exploration of jazz style and performance.
