MEDIUM is a delicate musical balance of Frankenstein-like proportions; oversized awkward beauty that's hauntingly seductive and eerily romantic, mortally tragic yet very awakened, vivid and alive. "Otherworld" confronts afflictions of the mind that cripple authenticity and purity. The songs hover like a omnipotent presence violently whispering a meditation-like prayer into the listener’s ear, then dives beneath the surface to unearth charged vapors of denial, rejection, fear, repression, and rage. The outcome...surrender, acceptance, transformation and resolve.

Hard Rock & Metal listeners have compared MEDIUM music to the likes of Tool, A Perfect Circle, Danzig, Black Sabbath, early Soundgarden and bits of Sonic Youth, and Sophia’s vocals to Lisa Gerrard (4-AD), Grace Slick, PJ Harvey, Siouxsie Sioux, Kate Bush and bits of Laurie Anderson, Scott Walker and Annie Lennox mixed in. Dark cabaret-like characterizations, cut-up, minimalist inverted melodies and outbursts of raw emotionalism border on mystical incantation, classical theatrics, gothic romanticism and avant-garde dramatics.

"Otherworld" was inspired by magical happenings, surreal landscapes, spiritual experiences and mystical encounters I had while living in Seattle, Washington between the years of 1994 - 2002. Each story line stems from an imagined archetype or character's perception and emotional connection to it's landscape. "I'm a visual artist and I see vivid images or scenes taking shape when I listen to music. Physical, sensual and psychic perceptions play a big part in my song writing experience. I guess that is why the artist and band title MEDIUM sticks with me. It's the internal journey that's taken when listening to music that inspires me so much to write."

Debut gothic hard rock - gothic metal CD - EP "Otherworld" was recently re-mastered by Audioworks in Burbank, CA in August 2005. The response to the re-mastered version has been overwhelmingly positive, from Djs, industry professionals and hard rock listeners from all over the world.

MEDIUM music is targeted to the art rock, gothic hard rock, experimental rock, alternative and avant-garde metal listener. "Otherworld" is submitted locally, nationally and worldwide to digital online radio networks, college and indie radio stations featuring art rock, hard rock and alternative metal formats. MEDIUM has been featured on pilot radio shows like "UNSIGNED" at Extreme Radio - UK. Tracks from "Otherworld" are currently streamed online, aired on radio and archived on play lists at stations around the world from Dublin - Ireland, Jakarta - Indonesia, France, the UK and the here in the US.
