Office re-design includes furniture acquisition, floor plans, filing systems and paper management.

What is a typical initial consultation like?
During the initial redesign consultation I walk around your home with you to determine what is working for you and what is not. We'll talk about things such as the primary function of each room, your family’s priorities, your entertaining style and your dreams. In a non-judgemental way we'll tour the house and find hidden items and forgotten treasures. We’ll look at the neglected architectural features of your house. I will come up with a customized solution for your situation. Collaboratively we will coordinate the scope of the project and set the date to get busy. Or we get down to moving stuff right away.

Are you going to tell me to get rid of my stuff?
This is the question that comes up the most. I help you to ask the right questions about your stuff. Sometimes it is the first time that you give yourself permission to say, “What do I really want?”. So when the situation warrants, with great compassion and care, I help you sort through your belongings and edit the clutter. I give you a fresh perspective and the confidence to attract the things you really want.

Are we going to have to buy organizing products?
No, in fact I would prefer that you didn’t buy anything at all. I work as a sustainable organizer. Normally you have what you already need and just need some new strategies to help you keep your home the way you want it to feel all the time. I give you unique ideas for using what you already have in your “stuff stash” instead of asking that you buy more plastic.
Do you do the work yourself?
Normally I get ‘down and dirty’ right alongside you. I bring a tool box with me! Packing boxes, repositioning furniture, shredding paper, I do it all (disposing of dead mice, that’s not my favourite). I sometimes do small sewing and carpentry projects for clients as well as assembling furniture. And if I can’t do it, I’ll try to connect you to the right handi-person who can. For Do-it-yourselfers, I give you solutions, scale drawn plans and directions so that you can work at your own pace. In my experience however, I find that clients appreciate my energy to help them execute their dreams.
We want to sell our house, how can you help?
I will help you unclutter and de-personalize your home and start you pre-packing so that your house can garner the greatest sale price. I can save you money by pre-planning your furniture arrangement and determine what you may or may not need to purchase. I will give you a strategy for editing your belongings. I will prepare your house for realty open houses.
What do you charge?
The initial consultation is $50 for residential and $75 for commercial. There is no time limit on this consultation, but the minimum is one hour to three hours. After that we decide on what can be accomplished on your budget. Sometimes I charge hourly, sometimes by the project. A mileage fee is charged over 100 KM.
