The screening for "1M1 - First Listen" took place in August 2006 at the Norris Theater on the campus of USC. The event was designed and produced by the SMPTV student composers in collaboration with filmmakers, Andrew Russo and SHO Thyme from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. The goal was to create a venue for composers to share and promote their work as film composers. And in part, to share a few words about the process and the journey they've taken to this point. The intro starts with a questions, "What did you want to be when you grew up?" The answer comes in the form of a series of short film clips wherein each composer shares his, or her thoughts on writing music for film, followed by playback of their original music to a scene from a feature film. To access these clips go to "Meet The Composers".
