NeuroKids is a foundation dedicated to teaching kids about the brain!

At NeuroKids you can learn the ABC’s of biology and neuroscience with your hosts, Bo Erik and Shennendoah Hollsten.

NeuroKids isn’t your typical website. It was made by us - Bo Erik (age 9) and Shennendoah (age 12).  We love learning about the brain - everybody’s brains - even animal brains!

We have learned that cats can’t taste sweet and that butterflies taste with their feet. Did you know that elephants can’t jump and that an ostrich’s eye is bigger than its brain? Do you know which part of your brain helps you spell backward or how to tell if you’re a right-brainer or a left-brainer?

NeuroKids is an awesome website for kids who love playing games, doing activities, and exploring the world right inside them.  At NeuroKids, we go on exciting field trips and meet famous neuroscientists and authors.

We have been on VIP tours and gone on field trips to see real animal and human brains. We took neuroscience to our school through Week of the Brain and we’re getting everybody involved so someday kids all across America will have the chance to learn about neuroscience and the brain.

Together, we can go from NeuroKids to NeuroTeens to Neuroscientists and cure the world of Autism,  ADD,  and brain diseases.

Kids teaching kids about the brain

At NeuroKids we are dedicated to learning about the brain and we are doing lots of fun stuff

Week of the BRAIN

Week of the Brain is a whole week dedicated to learning about the brain that you can do at your school. Teachers and kids explore the brain and nervous system by playing games and doing fun activities.

Interviews

We go out and talk to famous authors and neuroscientists and report back with the latest in neuroscience news and discovery for kids.

COOL games

Exercise your brain by playing fun games to challenge your eye-hand coordination, memory, and reflexes. The games are fun and they give your brain a workout.

NEUROTrivia

Download our Braintastic Booklet filled with activities and brain facts. Have fun with the Stroop Test, find your blind spot, or meet your brain team on the NeuroTrivia page.

book reviews

Do you want to read a book but you’re not sure if it’s going to be good? Check out NeuroKids book reviews and see what we have to say about books on the brain, books from famous authors in neuroscience, or school Accelerated Reader books.
