Weddings never/always go as planned

For those of us in the business, we often tell our clients that weddings will never truly go as planned, and that they should probably count on that and not stress over the day so much.  Schedules rarely stay on track, carefully scripted events often backfire, and there are always a few surprises along the way.

A wedding is not a movie or a novel--it is a celebration of a special event, shared for the benefit of family and friends.  Like any celebration, the best times are had when everyone is relaxed and happy, not following a script or schedule.  You are the host, and your own generosity, graciousness, and good humor will set the mood.  Stars and prima-donnas will always be disappointed.

But in a lot of ways, weddings almost always do go as planned; the couple proclaims their love and commitment, and a celebration unfolds to send them off.  And that’s really the secret of wedding plans...
