AN ENCOURAGING EMAIL FROM A RJC ACADEMY-STUDENT
I am writing to express my appreciation to you for the work you did in writing Understanding Japan Through the Eyes of Christian Faith. I was one of the participants in RJC Academy's Japan 101 class. Before I began the course, I had only a small understanding of Japan from things that I had read, heard, or experienced on my visits there. My wife and I have been praying about opportunities to minister to Japanese students at the nearby university, but I had a strong sense that I was not properly equipped to specifically reach out to Japanese students. I began praying about that God would show me how I could be equipped, and shortly thereafter, I found out about the Japan 101 class.
Reading your book was very enlightening in so many different aspects. Being able to read a concise account of Japanese history, cultural condition, and spiritual condition gave me a good foundation in the equipping process that I have been seeking. At times, certain elements of the content frustrated me, but upon completion of the book and processing all of those elements to see the "big picture," I realized how much I did not know and how much I had learned. Looking back after completing the class, I can see how your work gave me a greater knowledge and understanding of Japan in the six short weeks of the class. It is a very useful and solid foundation for a better understanding of my Japanese student friends and to build better, more meaningful relationships with them.

Understanding Japan through the eyes of Christian Faith is now being used as a text book in RJC Academy (Reaching Japanese for Christ Academy) in the online training of their students for reaching the Japanese in North America. Read it here... RJC has very useful links and information about reaching the Japanese. I highly recommend you to participate in their Japan 101 Classes before you ever start doing mission work among the Japanese.
