Mission Advise

1. 1.When you meet a Japanese person for business / mission for the first time, have your calling cards ready. Exchanging the cards enables the people to know each ones place in rank etc.
   

2. 2.Try to learn the Japanese language or at least make efforts to do so.
   

3. 3.Never speak too much about yourself. Self promoting, self elevating can be consider as rude! This is also applicable for advertisements, marketing for churches and ministries
   

4. 4.At first, do not impose to them that they are worshipping wrong gods and Jesus is the only way. They cannot understand that at first. You have to build this carefully.
   

5. 5.The Japanese do not understand the concept of sin, the word sin for them can be same as criminal. So if we say someone is a sinner, can mean someone is a criminal.
   

6. 6.However, their concept of sin is categorized in clean-unclean / pollution. Uncleanness has often to do with the things of outward, like touching the blood, and or the dead body etc.
   

7. 7.Japanese people have problem with blood. Many Christians unconsciously approach non Christians and often they come up with things like the blood of Jesus, the blood, also in the music Christians often say there is power in the blood. Of course the Christians can understand that, but not the non Christian Japanese.
   

8. 8.Also in Japan some animals like the lamb that are symbolically sacred in the Bible are considered stupid and dirty. Therefore when we evangelize and speak about Jesus the lamb of God, they cannot understand that! Therefore you have to make a study of these titles etc and find a Japanese representative version for that.
   

9. 9.Try to reach the migrants in Japan
   

10. 10.Try to reach the Japanese youth, because they are in a situation of needing love and attention
    

11. 11.Use digital world for reaching the Japanese people, specially women. Japanese society is a  “neighborhood society”, and people are very careful what their neighbors think and say about them. So the digital world, according to the researchers, makes the people to be opener since they can act under a nickname and no neighbor may recognize them. For instance in a certain women liberation movement, lot of women broke loose through the internet explaining their hearts and inmost concerns. This can also be effective for Christians. We have to make professional websites in Japanese, with the Japanese people offering them a listening ear and a gospel message adopted to the Japanese framework of culture.
