View from the Canyon

Hello hello. It’s been awhile since I wrote last. Is it because I’ve been busy attending Oscar parties? No. I didn’t go to any Oscar parties this year, nor do I remember in any detail where I’ve been for the last few weeks. But at one point I was living in a small apartment off a cobbled alleyway of Germantown in Columbus Ohio with a college student named Cindi, pictured above. Cindi worked in a faux beer garden, and often dressed up as the St. Pauli Girl. Where did we meet? I don’t recall. I think it was either 1) on a plane going to Athens, or 2) in line to buy magazines and gum at a news kiosk in the Portland International Jetport. Life’s an adventure. What was I doing in Portland, or for that matter on a plane bound for an ancient Greek port city? Got me. I stopped worrying about those kinds of details a long time ago. Clouds form in the sky, rain falls, the sun shines, things blow up, stores get robbed, people lose jobs and get eaten by sharks while others stab their best friends in the backs, write hit plays, drown, whatever. I don’t give a damn. Dogs bark and the caravan passes on. Speaking of dogs, the other day I found a small dog in my yard, chained to a palm tree. In fact, lately I’ve found a number of interesting things people have left at my house. Here’s an overview.
