Getting ready for Halloween (pt 2)

Lily wants to be a mermaid... so here is my try.  While in Yuma I saw the top, which made me think of seaweed.  Then I googled myself a pattern which I found here.

Top: $4
Fabric for skirt: $4
One happy mermaid: Also priceless.

Getting ready for Halloween (pt 1)

So here is Carlos, trying on his costume.  The main part is a pirate dress up outfit I bought a couple years ago. Thursday we went to Yuma and at the Salvation Army, i was able to score pirate accessories-- a hat, earring, hook and eyepatch.  (The hat is a little bent and needs some elastic to stay on.  A few days previously I had purchased the striped fabric for the head bandana.  Ready for the total?

Outfit on hand: $0 ($4 when I bought I bought it)
Accessory Set: $1 (AMAZING deal!)
fabric: $0.65
sword: $0
Happy pirate: PRICELESS! :)

Who’s ready for bed?

Carlos said he wanted to sleep in the other bed, and Lily was quick to volunteer her company.  I doubt he’ll stay the whole night, but isn’t he cute?

I have been making cloth diapers from used clothing; and staying up way too late one night I found this pattern.  Just ordered mine tonight-- I am so excited!

Quite a lot-- gross!

Last night I go out to do laundry and there is water everywhere.  This little guy sprung a leak!  The plastic housing has a crack so a fine mist of water was spraying everywhere.  Bloody fabulous :(

I shut the water off (to the entire house, mind you) when the laundry is finished and we all go to bed.  This morning I go out to fix it.  Being Sunday I can’t get a replacement (Not sold the regular home improvement store), I take it off, apart and let it dry.  Then  I superglue the crack and put everything back together.  turn the water on and... eureka!  (After one false start where
