MMORPGs for the MAC

While there aren't that many mmorpg's for the Mac, there are a few different ones to meet various tastes. Quite a few are free or non-subscription (based on micro-transactions). A lot include the Mac community by leveraging Java, which is practically platform-neutral. There is a broad range of systems requirements for those hanging on to those ancient Macs.

Out of the fully programmed Mac MMOs, I played Lineage for over a year and loved it, although it is an aging offering. Lineage 2 is only for PC.

I've also tried Shadowbane but cannot say I played enough to review - my computer was too slow to do justice to the game. Of course World of Warcraft is a runaway hit.

Also, Second Life is different kind of game emphasising building and socializing. Its not really a game, its more of a visual chat.

Or you could try booting up Windows with BootCamp and running a PC MMO.  Haven’t tried it because a fresh copy of Windows is required.

Check out the game sites and have fun!
