cinderella

Jimmy Schaefer has been directing an annual production of “Cinderella” for over 20 years. This year’s production was performed by The Riley Avenue Drama Club. Assisting Mr. Schaefer was Aquebogue’s Marguerite Volonts (on violin above), Stage Manager Howie Rohrbach and Sound Technician John Sanders.

This production of Cinderella is the first musical experience for these young actors and actresses. The classic tale of Cinderella - the girl left to the devices of her evil stepmother and three evil stepsisters, who manages to rise above everything with the help of her Fairy Godmother and make all of her dreams come true - is given a funny twist. Four far out stepsisters replace the three stepsisters and four hip fairy godmothers transform Cinderella I into Cinderella II, who ultimately wins the heart of the Prince as Cinderella I. Singing, dancing and acting, these kids do it all to some great show tunes.
