Art-In-Action

One day a year in May (May 1, 2009), the art teachers in the Riverhead School District take on the daunting task of showcasing student art produced throughout the year in one location. From floor to ceiling the Riverhead High School gymnasium is covered with the art from every school--almost every child in every art class throughout the district can show their parents or their siblings and friends one piece of art they helped make.

The teachers are to be commended for this effort. This site attempts to give you just a glimpse of this effort in May of 2007.

In addition to the art, each teacher sets up hands-on art opportunities for the children and their parents who want to make a piece of art while they are there to view the art.
