Body Mass Index is a tool for indicating weight status in adults. It relates weight to height and can be used as a tool for assessing health risks. As BMI increases, the risk for some diseases increases, such as:
•Cardiovascular Disease
•High Blood Pressure
•Osteoarthritis
•Diabetes
The use of BMI allows individuals to compare their own weight status to the general population.
