december 9, 2007 - first test drive.

major step. first off-road test drive of the cruiser in the snow in the grand canyon of arizona. it was cold!  she did great!

existing bed, frame and “bed doors” are easily removed by sliding out or simply unscrewing.

inside rear of the cab to be cut out to link camper and the cab together.

thanks for logging in. on september 23, 2007,we purchased our cruiser at vintageoffroad. 19 feet long and 6/12 feet wide. the “flatbed” is 7 foot long and the cab is also 7 foot long. On february 16th, 2007, vintage off road completed the servicing to make the cruiser road worthy and it made the drive home to Los Angeles, California.

thanks to http://www.ih8mud.com, http://www.expeditionportal.com and others that are currently driving around the world we are continually learning and making changes to the cruiser. it seems like we started out with something complicated and now are simplifying the design. we are learning to balance agility and comfort. see #2 below.

1. September 23, 2007 - the plan was to build a camper over the existing bed 7’ long x 6 1/2’ wide x 4’6” high and over the cab for sleeping space 7’ long x 6 1/2’ wide x 2’ high.

2. January 13, 2008 - the plan is now to make the cruiser more agile. here are the current changes; instead of 4’6” high the rear cab will be 4’ high, the over hang over the cab will now be 3’ not 7’ long, the remaining 4’ will be use for a roof rack/tent. these changes are reflected on the drawings below. for more current on the build click on the “build up date” on the page menu above.

april 15,2008 - pop-up camper (rear) and tent (front) installed. fabrication well underway.
