Tom returns from Red Cross work in Louisiana.  We review the topic of information visualization, which looks at how different types of data map to types of visual parameter.  The optimal transformation of that data into a specific representation depends on the user’s task.  Fisheye views are a kind of representation that shows a lot of detail at the focal point while still revealing very general information about the data as a whole.  [This recording was accidentally cut off.]
