I’m the Managing Director of Internode and Agile.

And...

I fly.

About Me

Simon Hackett has been involved with the Internet in Australia since well before it was trendy.

Simon graduated from Adelaide University in 1986. While subsequently working at the university, he helped to build AARNet - the Australian Research and Educational version of the Internet, predating the Australian commercial Internet - in the late '80s. He helped to build the worlds first SNMP controlled Internet Toaster.

Simon was a cofounder of the Internet Society of Australia, the founding president of the South Australian Internet Association, and generally tries hard to leave the Australian Internet landscape a little better off for his involvement in it.

In 1991, Simon founded Internode, an innovative national broadband Internet services company, and in 1997 founded Agile, a company that builds broadband network infrastructure. They are both expanding rapidly.

He is generally not shy when it comes to expressing opinions about broadband development in Australia.
