May 2006. Launch off lay-by after fish farm OS: 41 GR: 088602

Unusually I forgot to take the camera but I’ve included this as it’s a sheltered loch on a blowy day.  We launched further east so we could initially paddle into the strong westerly and return with the incoming tide.

Tidal Information

Ballachulish Bridge: In stream -0515 / Out stream +0100 HW Oban

Up to 5.5kn under bridge

When outgoing stream meets west wind heavy overfalls occur in mouth of loch to west of bridge

Loch Leven narrows: In stream -0430 / Out stream +0100 HW Oban

In=6kn Out=4.5kn

Corran narrows: N stream -0600 / S stream +0005 HW Oban

Up to 5kn with big eddies both sides of the narrows
