North bay dries so you can only launch here at high-mid tide.  The gap between Gighay and Hellisay is known by some as The Blue Lagoon and would be a great place to camp.  The overhanging cliffs on Hellisay south side are dramatic, but I don’t have any decent photos.

Tidal Information

Tidal streams in Barra Sound run inward from both ends at once beginning +0530 and outwards beginning -0045 HW Ullapool.  They meet and separate in Oitir Mhor east of Fuday and west of Eriskay.  There’s a lot of very shallow water in Caolas Fuideach which can catch even kayaks at low tide.
