Launch from passing place after phone box then leave car at car-park up hill. 

Leave a bike 4 ml away at Kilchoan for return or hitch.

Doug Cooper & George Reid’s book grades this ‘C’ among their harder routes.  They recommend doing this route in the opposite direction, but the tide wasn’t right for us. We timed our launch and lunch stop so we rounded the point just before slack water.  The 14.8km voyage took 3hr 37min of paddling
