I awoke around 7:45 Sunday morning after a night of tossing and turning in a new bed, and a new city. And what a glorious city it was- Firenze. I had to pinch my cheeks several times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.
After a welcome hot shower and tasty breakfast, I went out exploring, after all, I had until 3pm until we officially met as a group.
Wandering the city, I really didn’t know where I was going, I just wanted to explore, get lost, find my way back, and most of all, start taking pictures!
I made my way to the Arno, found the delightful statue you see to the left, and by the time the walk was over -about an hour or so later- I had already taken more than 100 photos!
I met up with three of my other tour mates I had met early, and we shared time at the Boboli Gardens and Pitti Palace, and since I was without a jacket, I headed back to the hotel just as the rain began to fall.
After a simple lunch of pizza and mineral water, I napped, and prepared to meet the rest of our group that afternoon.
