We started yet another wet morning off with a wander through Santa Maria Novella church, and then made our way to a beautifully restored Renaissance Home. The picture to the left is of the massive shutters that overlooked the street bellow.
After we left the home, we wandered over the Arno and into the real Florence -well, the Florence not overrun by tourists and tacky postcards of David.
It was nice to see the real life side of the city, the market, little stores with fresh fruit and vegetables. We also made our way to Santo Spirito, a beautiful old church with wonderful paintings and frescos.
