It amazes me that North American’s from this time period were still living in caves carved from the mountain sides. Yet the European culture was thriving and art and civilization was just beginning to come into it’s own. Sure, there was that little thing called the Dark Ages, but to wander this city, and see in every street or alley or building such attention to detail, to the finer aspects of what made something go from marble to masterpiece, it was just overwhelming.
