Christmas Decorations

待ちに待ったクリスマス！！　近所でもクリスマスのライトアップが着々と進んでおります。
私も休みを丸一日費やしてクリスマスイルミネーションをデコレーションしました。今まで買い溜めたライトもあるのですが、古くて電球が割れているものもあり買い換えをすることにしました。あらかじめインターネットでクリスマスイルミネーションを幾つか買っておいたのでお昼からすぐに作業に取りかかりました。総て一人での設置、、お昼から始めて、買い物を含めて約5時間で完了。
思ったよりまずまずの出来に自画自賛！！

Alan’s Farewell Party (Friends)

I had a party at my house for my friend Alan. He has been living in Osaka for the last 16 years and is going to start a new job this year. His new company wants him to go to Chiba for Training for 6 months to a year! When I heard how long he would be going for I decided to throw a Farewell Party, that way I can also throw a Welcome Back Party!!! I invited about twenty of Alan's friends and my friends to celebrate his new job and wish him luck in his training. Everyone had a really good time and drank a lot. Alan made his special Frozen Strawberry Margaritas which were a BIG hit, as always! I made many kinds of foods for the party and there was NOTHING leftover, so I guess everyone really liked the food. Alan was very happy to have so many friends come from all over Kansai to wish him good luck in Kanto. I think everyone is eager to celebrate his return from training next year. It will probably be in the summer, so Alan has asked to have a BBQ with fireworks afterwards!!! That should be fun too!

私の家で友人のためのパーティを開きました。大阪に約16年間住んでいるアランが今年新しい仕事が始まったのです。次の会社の研修（トレーニング）のため千葉県へ6ヶ月から一年行くことになったのです。長い間関西を離れる事を知り、お別れパーティを決行〜！お帰りパーティも決意！新しい仕事へのお祝いと研修のグッドラックを込めてアランの友人や私の友人の総勢20余名を招待しました。みんなとても楽しんでいたようで、お酒もたくさん飲んでいました。アランが得意のフローズンマルガリータを作り、いつもの通り大評判！私もいろんな料理をたくさん作りましたが、みんな完食してくれたので、味は良かったかな。関西一円からお祝いなどで集まってくれた友人達を迎えてアランはとっても喜んでいた様です。
また、関東から戻って来る際のパーティーをみんな期待してるでしょう。お帰りパーティは来年の夏になる予定なのでアランはすでにバーベキューと花火をリクエスト。
また楽しみですねー！

Alan’s Farewell Party (English Class)

Alan has been living in Kansai for about sixteen years but he is going to live in Kanto for six to twelve months, as he has got a new job. On this day, Students of his English lesson held a party for him. We had a great time at a Japanese Izakaya and we went a Jazz bar which is one of students favorite place afterwards.

関西で約16年も暮らし続けたアランが転職と共に、トレーニングのために半年から一年関東で暮らすことになりました。そこで、この日はアランがプライベートで行っていた英会話のクラスのみんなでパーティーをしました。居酒屋で楽しく飲んで食べた後、生徒の一人がお気に入りのJazz Barへ行きました。

Ryu’s Birthday Party

We Celebrated my friend’s son’s Birthday!!
His name is Ryunosuke and he is a really energetic and sweet kid. Scott made delicious meals for us, sandwich, fried chicken, pizza, salad, etc...for this party. We had a great time together, so the party continued from 2 pm till 10:00pm, eat, chat , drink!!

友人の息子の誕生日をお祝いしました！
その子の名前は龍之介くん。とてもエネルギッシュでかわいい子です。このパーティのために友人のスコットがサンドウィッチや唐揚げ、ピザ、サラダなどの美味しい料理を作ってくれました。とっても楽しく、パーティはお昼2時から夜の10時まで続きました！

Kita-Rokkodai Bon-Odori

I found a poster about a Japanese Summer Festival, Bon-Odori, held near my house. I was day off that day and I went to the Bon-Odori. It was held at a school and I thought it might be a small Bon-Odori but actually it wasn’t bad. There were many shops opened and a big Yagura in the middle of the ground. I had four draft beer, three Jumbo Yakitori and Takoyaki there. I will visit there also next year!!

私の家の近くで行われる日本の夏祭り「盆踊り」のポスターを見つけたので、休みという事もあり行ってきました。学校のグラウンドで行われると言うことで、小さな夏祭りかなと思ってましたが、実際はそれほど悪くありませんでした。屋台が建ち並び、大きな櫓がグラウンドの真ん中にありました。生ビール4杯とジャンボ焼き鳥4串そしてたこ焼きを平らげて満足満足。
来年も必ず来ます！
