Marblehead Pond Yacht

On August 26, 2007 I began construction of a Vintage Marblehead pond yacht at Wooden Boat School.  Last year, while taking a lofting course, I saw these boats and fell in love; I must return to build one of these beautiful boats.

I am building a representative of a 1930 - 1945 Vintage Marblehead class yacht.  When completed it will be 50 inches long, approximately 80 inches tall (top of mast to bottom of lead ballast), and carry 800 square inches of sail. Its design is based on the 1901 Max Oertz Gluckauf and the 1910 N. G. Herreshoff Bibelot.  The construction plans were drawn by Thom McLaughlin of Sublime BoatWorks.
