for useful astronomical sky data
The actual data comes from the Heavens-Above website skillfully developed and maintained by Chris Peat.
I find this site very handy for obtaining current position data for satellites, the Sun, the Moon and the planets. It also has an interactive Star Chart for the current sky as well as background information on Constellations and the brighter associated stars. The star chart is adjustable to a time and date of your choice.
As a quick reference for observers Atlantic Canada, I have made some preselected links below, choose the one closest to your location and the data at the link will be calculated for the location you select.
With a little extra time and effort, predictions can be set up specific to your location, by going to any of the Heavens-Above links below and choose select from map or from database or edit manually then SAVE the site specific URL for later reference.
