The Candelaria Hotel is located in the northern side of Antigua in its highest point.  From Candelaria’s Terrace you can see the surrounding hills and volcanoes that embrace the Panchoy Valley.  Opened in 2004, Antigua’s artisans worked for 7 years, carving precious woods used in the doors, windows, floors and furniture.  More information about the Candelaria Hotel can be found on their website.

Lodgings for all teams will offer comfortable facilities including beds, western toilets, hot showers, and staff well-versed in accommodating food and lodging needs of Americans. The lodgings site for Rosa de Amor near Coban is yet to be determined.  Lodgings for the 2nd and 3rd week of the mission will probably be located at two different facilities near the tourist city of Antigua--about a 30 min’s drive from Hogar Miguel near Guatemala City and the Lutheran School near the village of San Antonio Zamora.  Lodgings may vary depending on the size of each team.  Here are two examples of confirmed lodgings for the mission:

Within walking distance of the Candelaria, is the Lutheran Retreat Center.  Like Antigua, the Lutheran Center has a colorful history. Once the site of a colonial convent and later a hospital run by Guatemala's first indigenous woman doctor, it now is a major gathering spot for church and non-profit groups.  More information about the Lutheran Retreat Center can be found on their website.
