Can tolerate blood, lice, disturbing/unhealthy diseases in children
Can work with blood (Hep B vaccination)
Can work as a team with other healthcare professionals
Can take orders & serve where needed (servant-hearted)
Spanish language helpful

Potential  mission  projects

Hogar Miguel:
Full medical exams for Boys and full-time workers
Vaccinations--Hep A & B, Tetanus, Polio, MMR, etc.
De-licing
Dental and eye exams
Healthcare/Hygiene classes
Possible visit to nearby village; vaccinations, exams

COTS and CATD
Exams, vaccinations, minor surgery, diagnose/report children to hospital for more serious health problems 
Training sessions with Health, Hygiene, & “Food for the Soul” Kits (Toothbrush & paste, antibiotic cream, lice wash, wound kits, Bible,etc.)
Deliver new medicine for COTS, CATD centers and train social workers and/or teachers when to prescribe 

Supplies
Medicine, vaccines, syringes, etc. for all above projects
Replace expired antibiotics, etc. in COTS clinic
“Food for the Soul” kits

Medical Crew

Designed for healthcare professionals, or lay assistants willing to help in this area, the Medical Crew will be dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of the children at Hogar Miguel, COTS, and CATD.  Potential mission projects at each site, and mission supplies may change as needed.  Some supplies will be collected by team members prior to the trip while others will be provided by other sources.  Crew leader Heather Smith is a 4th yr resident Anesthesiologist at Shand’s Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.  Heather is also the sister of Shawn Smith.
