My Blog on the go!
this performance is what i was waiting for. everything worked out great!! i esp. like breathe, i was able to be creative without catering to a audience that wanted catchy movement. just good concepts, and a natural state of dancing. the music he created called for something fun/visually appealing and so i didn’t have to hold back on ideas. plus he brings the a good vibe to the performance.
used a little of my “american boy” concept, and worked really well with this. it felt good to do something “different” for a different audience. overall i enjoy watching it, im sure the fans like it too, and it was cool to show my parents what i’ve been doing overseas. ha hope fully he does this performance again so i can watch with different angles. peace
recently i was in korea working on GD’s debut. i didn’t get to stay for the making of this shoot so i was pretty excited to see the outcome. i heard all the ideas before hand and so it turned out great. i like the way he kinda just thinks about stuff and goes for it, im sure thats a big part of why he’s successful. the dancing was dope! wish i was on set to guide the movement and fix a couple details but it looks like they got it covered.
liked the costumes, i don’t know if the masks were GD face because i think they were originally supposed to be, but to me the white washes it out so i can’t tell. looks a little jabba to me, but that wasn’t their original intent so no need to get that mixed up, hey i just do the choreography. lol. anyway, im glad he was happy with the work, and working with him was a pleasure.
so i called it. i said these guys are gonna be the next biggest thing! yea any teacher or choreographer thats seen them or worked with them knows how amazing they are too. just ask. anyway, i even remember having a conversation with moto’s dad, he was concerned about his son’s path in dance and where it’ll take him. i had said that they’ll be fine. the world will know. well, needless to say i knew things were gonna pop off for them. they are now starting to travel the world, in japan they are def a favorite and its only a matter of time for when the world will hear what they have to say. not only my great dancers, but good people and also my friends. ha can’t wait to do more with them, looking to go back to japan soon. proud of you guys man!!
about a 20hr shoot, lots of dancing, being really tired and the wet floor was not fun. overall it was good to get down with the homie lyle and get to work with him on something of this scale. i also got to be a dancer:) its not often i get to dance behind an artist i like and do choreography thats dope to do. YB works way too hard btw, he’s like a machine. anyway, enjoy it. i know i do!!
