OCTDS -- Oakland County Traditional Dance Society

OCTDS presents monthly traditional contra & square dances at the First United Methodist Church of Troy in Troy, MI.

Our dances are usually the 4th Saturday of each month except for a special Sunday dance in August ; our dance-hall features a floating wood floor and is air-conditioned.

All dances are taught; no partners or experience are required; beginners are welcome.

First-timers should arrive and be ready to dance by 7:30 pm, as the basic calls are taught at the beginning and each dance builds on the skills learned in the previous dance!  After the beginners' warm-up session at 7:30pm, regular dancing commences at 8pm.

Wear cool, comfortable clothes and flat shoes.

We are proud to participate in DTE's "Green Currents" program; our dance is powered using electricity from renewable generation sources.
