NEW BLUE EYE
Hope everyone had a great Father's Day! We finally had some family pictures taken by the fabulous Angie Lyn and if you look closely, you'll see Miss Sophia has two beautiful blue eyes looking back at you. She received her painted eye about two weeks ago and we are so excited! They did an amazing job and our pretty princess is now even prettier.
We are also happy to report that Sophia is starting to crawl. She's moving slow and only a little bit at a time, but she's really getting her right arm out in front which has been the challenge in getting her to crawl. We received a temporary diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, but due to her continual forward developmental progress, the therapists and doctors are very hopeful that she will be able to walk and have little to no issues with her cognitive thinking. We have also been informed that a lot of neuromuscular issues resolve themselves by age 3 which is why it is just a temporary diagnosis.
Her symptoms are most like CP and it also explains the delayed physical development. We have been told that the only thing we can do is therapy, therapy, therapy every day. So we are very encouraged that we have already been doing that for the last year and we just received approval for additional therapy services thru CCS ( California Children's Services). We are also encouraged that she continues to move forward in her physical progress as children with CP tend to become more stiff and lose mobility.
Please continue to pray for continued physical progress for the princess and enjoy the new pics. If you need some new family pics, our photographer - Angie at www.angielyn.com - is wonderful and she loves to photograph puppies too. She'll even come to your home and her prices are great.
I almost forgot to mention that she is still having her breath holding spells, but they have dramatically decreased to about 3 times a month so I truly didn't think about it. We wish you a happy and fun summer and hope to see you soon.
Love,
Rachel, Gary and Sophia
