Spiritual Mitosis
36” x 24” Oil on Canvas
This is one of the first painting I worked on when I started using Oils about 6 years ago. I haven’t touched it much, and in fact the last time I worked on it was over 3 years ago.
It has only been recently that it has been given a name - Spiritual Mitosis, and the idea is that it represents how a soul divides, reproducing itself.
Originally, the geometry was born from me trying to portray what I feel when I meditate.
Far in the background is the Star of David which I use to represent the merging of Heaven and Earth, and at the center, a singularity sits, unfolding a vibrating Universe.
To the edges, eyes evolve until all thought comes into focus, and then folds back in upon itself.
One of my recurring themes is that of a folded Universe that all generates from a single point, thus connecting all within its realm.
Beyond the center sits the Omniverse filled with infinite Buddha Minds.
