I can’t believe my baby girl is 2, but luckily we all made it another year. Katie is definitely the spice in our family. She can be as sweet as sugar or hot tempered, all within minutes. She amazes us with her thoughtfulness of others, especially her big brother, Ian. She can be stubborn, shy, cuddley, caring and considerate. She cracks us up with all the funny little things she says, and she is a great audience to have around with a laugh that makes you feel funny and appreciated. In the last year Katie has: recovered from a broken leg and become an expert walker, runner, and jumper. She has developed a love for drawing and coloring, began to learn her ABC’s and counts to 15. She LOVES animals, especially dogs. And although she can be girly and princess-y, with a great love for shoes (that’s my girl), she also loves to wrestle with Ian and play with cars and trains. We are so happy to have her be a part of our family and we look forward to another year of firsts. Love you Katie Girl!!!
You may be wondering what happened to Katie’s face...well this last week was Seth’s spring break and we went to San Antonio with Seth’s parents. The final morning of our stay proved to be detrimental to her good looks. While getting ready in the morning in the hotel, Ian and Katie were playing around the AC unit when she fell and hit her lip, creating a bloody mess and an instant fat lip. To make matters worse and an even bloodier mess, while leaving McDonald’s after eating breakfast, Katie was playing in the front seat of the car while Seth was preparing her car seat. He heard a thud and looked around to see her laying face down in the parking lot. Apparently she lost her balance and her face caught her fall. Lucky for Seth, a man in the restaurant saw the whole thing and came to Seth’s rescue, explaining to me that I shouldn’t spank Seth, it wasn’t his fault. Good thing that man saw it because I was pulling off my belt ready to give Seth a good whoopin.
