Forget the aspartame, the corn syrup, the preservatives, the artificial colors and flavors...  Soda is now a health food.  See that picture?  Diet Coke now offers Diet Coke plus with VITAMINS & MINERALS.

I’m sorry, but this is another case of marketing and lies trumping actual information.  I have my doubts about the absorbability of vitamin supplements anyway, but it’s deceptive and insidious for something like Coke, diet or otherwise, to try to market itself as a health food by adding vitamins.

I propose instead that Coke replace Coke Plus with a new product, Coke Minus.  Take out, well, everything.  In fact, take all the cans of the shelves.  In exchange, we’ll keep our money.  Or hell, maybe we’ll spend it on cheese or berries or something that actually has vitamins.  Some of that vitamin-containing stuff.  Um, what is it called again?  Oh yeah, food.
