Believe it or not someone out there doesn’t know the name of your station, your name, what the title of that Nirvana song is that tests number one in your last AMT, etc etc.

The fact is that listeners really don’t pay that much attention to what they’re listening to and those who actually do cannot retain the vast amounts of information that is being spewed by you and every other medium out there.

So approach each conversation and topic as if you are telling the info for the first time! 

Listeners get frustrated when info is not readily available.  Your job is to inform without going on and on and on and on and on

and on and on and on and on and on and on... much like this sentence.

Don’t tell listeners stuff, show them!
Make everything on your show have value.

The programmers job is to build cume, the Air Personalities job is to build quarter hours.
Take better care of the listeners than anyone else in town.
Know what you want to communicate before you open the mic.
50% of what you say can be redlined.
Give something from your point of view.
Promote!  If it’s worth doing it’s worth promoting.
