Dyno Day

Submitted by Julius Abellera

Jan 14, 2012. Rob Bowen once again arranged for interested parties to have dyno done on their TR. Attended by a dozen LBC's, each driving in, tied down, rev'd to 4500 rpm 3rd gear (5,000 for those with bigger cam & headers). The resulting fuel/air mixture, torque/hp, mph/rpm viewed on screen prior to receiving printout of 3 runs. Special price set up by Rob & Superior Automotive Engineering.

Rites of Spring Drive

Submitted by Julius Abellera

March 31, 2012. A couple days before it was in the mid 70's so the prospect of nice weather for Bob Muzio's Annual Rites of Spring Drive in the Santa Monica Mtns above Malibu were indeed good, forecasted 20% chance of maybe drizzle any real rain not expected until after 3 pm with a roll out time of 10 am lunch 1 pm the consensus we could complete the run and be home before the rain came.

As with several events this year the weather took a turn for the worse, during chit chat inside of meet spot as others filtered in the mist turned to drizzle Bob contemplated calling off the ride and rescheduling but in the end we decided to go for it. Just before 10 am the drizzle let up so off we went 17 strong (3-TR3s. 2-TR4s, 7-TR6s,  2-Spitfires, 1-GT6, 1-Jensen Healey and a Vette).

driving in and out of the rain, and listen to the
sweet purr of well tuned Triumphs.
