The purpose of this booklet, published by White Baking Company, is to sell White bread. Here’s the gist of the instructions: take two pieces of bread and stick something edible between them. Eat.
Every living American has been taught that the 4th Earl of Sandwich invented this daily mainstay, even before they learned that George Washington chopped down a cherry tree. But did you know that Hawaii was originally named The Sandwich Islands by Captain Cook, after this same Earl? Another fun fact: the Sandwich family, now headed by the 11th Earl, has actually opened a sandwich business franchise. Their first store in the USA opened at Disney World in 2004. True!
