You need to record your corn data in these things with bullet pencils, preferably ones that advertise grain elevators. What is corn data anyway? Does Farmer Joe count the kernels per cob? Or the cobs per stalk? Or the stalks per field? Or all of the above?
Have you ever driven through the farmlands of Illinois? If you have, perhaps you can fully appreciate just how much corn and soybeans we’ve got in this world. A lot! Field after field after flat-ass field.
Illinois is officially called “The Prairie State,” but since less than 1/10th of 1 percent of its original gorgeous prairies remain, I hereby propose that our elected officials in the State Legislature rename it “The Corn and Soybean State.” Screw biodiversity, we need more corn and soybeans! Preferably genetically engineered, though we’ll take hybrids if that’s all you’ve got.
