My first road-trip!

Last weekend Dad and I took our first road-trip!  We drove up to San Francisco...that meant about 5 1/2 hours in the car each way.  But I didn’t mind it.  I slept while Dad drove.  I offered to drive, but he ignored me.  If you’ve ever ridden with Dad, you might agree that anything is an improvement!

We took off early in the morning and headed north.  Dad only stopped a few times...but I was able to “hold it”.  Dad said this is good practice for when we fly to Michigan for Christmas.

I had so much fun in San Francisco.  I got to see the Golden Gate bridge, go to the beach, take a hike, took a really long walk through downtown, and best of all, I got to play with Steve and Ganzo!!

However, the ride back had its challenges.  Dad and I left on Sunday afternoon and just 30 minutes out of the City, we had a flat tire.  As we approached LA, drove through some high winds and a few of those fires that we’re having out here.  But fortunately, we were fine.  We did pass many fire caravans - fire fighters coming from all over California to help fight these fires.

In case you’re wondering, Dad and I are ok - the fires are pretty much to the south and the east.  However, the air is really smokey and its been hot (yesterday it was 100) because of something they call the “Santa Ana Winds”.   But the weather says it’s going to cool down tomorrow...hopefully that will help put out the fires.
