Yesterday the folks up at GDA tested my temperament...I’m not sure what that means, but I passed. it’s the first step in GDA deciding whether or not to use me as a future dad dog for the program or if I’ll continue to work to be a working guide dog. When Dad heard that I passed the temperament portion he laughed and said “obviously temperament testing doesn’t include leaving unworn shoes lying around to see if they mysteriously disappear.” Haha. What he doesn’t know is that I only like to run around with his shoes.
Yvonne up at GDA told Dad that the hard part are the next steps: the physical exams. I need to have an ultra-sound of my heart on February 16 and then if that’s good, I need to have my eyes examined and a bunch of x-rays taken to ensure that I don’t have any hip problems.
My good friend Drea is still waiting to hear back from GDA about her being a mom dog. It seems to be a pretty in-depth process and I’m told that not many pups end up being parents.
Regardless of what happens, Dad says I still need to be good and continue to work on my training.
By the way, if you were wondering, the picture above is from my visit to Grandma and Grandpas during Christmas. Although we’ve had a lot of rain in LA, we’ve not received any snow...but I guess you never know!
