True East Texan

Jim and Judy McReynolds have been married for 42 years and raised their two sons to have the same values you share. The entire McReynolds family is dedicated to public service. Judy teaches public school, one of their sons, Jeff, serves in the Lufkin Fire Department and their other son, Jack, is a research scientist for the USDA.

Jim served in the Marine Corps Reserve during Vietnam, taught public school, earned a Ph.D. in History, and now owns and operates a small business. The McReynolds are active in their church where Jim Serves as a deacon, teaches Sunday school and was a Boy Scout leader for over a decade.

Strong State Representative

Jim has represented East Texas in the state legislature since 1997. He is a member of the powerful, budget-writing Appropriations Committee and the budget officer for the corrections committee.

As your representative, Jim has worked to build a strong local economy, bring more state funding to our public schools and insure East Texans continue to benefit from the natural resources with which we are blessed.

Jim will continue to use his experience and seniority to address the issues that affect our daily lives, such as public education, health care, economic development, water preservation, transportation planning and law enforcement.
