Which do you want first, the good news...

Good because good things are happening. La Toque got a great write up in USA Today as having one of the top ten dishes that Jerry Shriver enjoyed last year.  My wine is delish. Not too many sales yet, but the bad economic news is bigger than just me.
The bad news is on every street corner. It is easy to find vacant store fronts around town. Napa is probably doing better than many towns. So that worries me even more!
The Salvation Army store closed just before Christmas. As soon as I saw it empty I had to take a picture. It’s not a very good photo, I know. But how sad is that, a closed Salvation Army Store. The otherwise unemployable are unemployed. Where will we get our Salvation?
In the past, everytime I drove by that store, I kept thinking how great of a space it would be for a nightclub, just gut it and call it SALVATION. It could still happen if I win the lottery.
But for now every good thing bit of news that comes my way, makes me feel quite grateful indeed. I am thankful for so many friends and so many good things that have happened to me. I hear my self saying to people Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays...it has a bit more meaning this year. My handshake is a bit firmer, my eye contact holds for a moment longer. I want to say the words Happy New Year in a way that lets everyone know I want this coming year to be the happiest and the newest.
