Nope, its not a meteor from outer space. It is a truffle from Alba. This is a strong year for size and quality of truffles. Not all of the truffles are bigger than a fist like the one in the picture above, but all of them have been very fragrant and La Toque should have an all- truffle menu until Feb 14th.
