At the Yountville tasting I asked about rainfall. Farmers have been relieved that some rain has come and would hope for five more inches or so. It looks at like there will be enough water this year. But it will not be a good harvest for farmers. Demand for grapes and prices offered will be down. This might be a year where more than 10% of the fruit is left on the vine.
More conversation on the taste of Yountville and the 2005 and 2006 vintages to follow. ( I have had the flu this week)
If you are visiting Napa in the rain, I have always enjoyed looking at art in the rain. I recommend the Edward Weston Photography show at Turnbull. on highway 29.
