Preben Antonsen   has been pounding on the piano almost every day since he was four years old with Molly Axtmann, James Chip Brimhall, and Sharon Mann frothing at the mouth in vain attempts to force him to practice. He and John Adams have enjoyed many hours of listening to Indian ragas together and planning a year of isolation with a sitar master. Preben is grateful to BMI and ASCAP for recognizing his efforts with generous awards, and thankful that the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra believes he is a percussionist. Without the Perlman Music Program he probably would have become a hermit.  Never in his wildest dreams could he have imagined enjoying a winter formal before being swept off his feet by Lick Wilmerding High School.
