“As a voice teacher and opera director, I was thrilled to hear about Camp Opera.  What a tremendous opportunity for young people to gain experience in this oft-misunderstood performance medium.  Scott Piper combines a wealth of operatic experience as a leading tenor on some of the world’s finest stages with an innate ability to communicate his passion for the art form to young people.  I am very excited for this new venture!” - Dr. Thomas Hueber

CAMP OPERA 2009

Bridging Dreams in the Arts

“Many of us shared the wonders of Scott Piper’s Sesquicentennial gift to Vermillion in the form of the awesome concert and production titled “Unchained Melodies – 1859” on Sunday afternoon January 11, 2009 in Farber Hall.  There are no words to fully describe the feelings, emotions, learning and true entertainment that the capacity crowd experienced at this wonderful event.  My most sincere and heartfelt thanks go out to Scott Piper, organizer, writer and vocalist …  Vermillion is indeed very fortunate … Thank you!” - Dan Christopherson
